Welcome to The Roaming Llama!

Hello. My name is Monil Patel. I lived 27 years in India playing professional cricket. My pursuit of higher study and better quality of life brought me to Ireland. I’ve been in Dublin for almost 3 years now. I am an MBA and still play cricket. I work. I freelance. I try to grab the opportunities to travel, taking advantage of being in Europe.

In the middle of global COVID-19 pandemic forced global lockdowns, life presented me with a demo of how I always wanted to live . I traveled to Peru in the end of February 2020 to see the Machu Picchu, the Inca life, and more importantly, the Amazon rainforest. However, I met a girl, and ended up spending 3 months in the Sacred Valley, Peru amidst the lockdowns.

I stumbled upon a few first-time experiences along the journey. I learned Spanish. With an abundance of time, I had valuable reflections from these experiences as well. In fact, I still find myself reflecting upon those experiences.

This blog is an attempt to share those reflections and grow along the journey together.
